Socotra

Socotra sits 380km off the Horn of Africa and has been separated from the mainland for millions of years, which is why roughly a third of its plant life grows nowhere else on earth. It is reached on a single weekly flight, visited on operator-led expeditions, and slept in under canvas. The season runs October to April; the southwest monsoon closes it for the rest of the year.
