About This is Socotra

We research and write the travel guides, and we publish five trip packagesmodelled on the itineraries Socotra’s operators actually run, each with a day-by-day route, what is included and an approximate price.

Trips are arranged by enquiry, not booked online. Seats on flights to Socotra are not sold online, and every visit runs on a permit arranged by a licensed local operator, so a trip starts with a message rather than a checkout. Enquiring is free, and the exact price is confirmed in writing before anything is paid.

Package prices are approximate land prices per person. The flight to the island is priced separately, and on some trips so is the entry permit. The season runs October to April.

The whole island: Hadibo and the north coast, the Diksam plateau and the Firmihin forest, Homhil and Hoq Cave in the east, the dunes of the south coast, and Detwah Lagoon and Qalansiyah in the west. Start with the places on the island.
